Viva la Verve

I made this card for one of the Viva la Verve sketch challenges this month. I chose the curtains the the photo for my inspiration. The sentiment and leaves are both from Verve and the flourish is Inkadinkado. A couple of buttons, lace, and a little bow, and that's it. Thank you so much for taking a peek. Have a wonderful day. :)

CPS Sketch #167

I saw this sketch at CPS and was totally stumped. But then I got to thinking about those circles on the corners of the sketch, they made me think of buttons. That made me think about this little stamp that I had shipped over from the UK about a year ago and had yet to use on a card. Oh this stamp is so sweet! I cut out the little blankets, bib, and onesie and made a little clothes line, awwww. I sponged the sky and grass, and added a few blades of grass. I painted the images with Distress Inks, I like how these turned out better than the flower I did on yesterday's post. I guess because these were smaller? I don't know, but I really like the technique, and will just have to practice more. Thanks so much for stopping in for a peek, have a wonderful week. :)

Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge, May Week 2

Hi! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I am so behind on my Verve cards this month. Our AC went out and it was way too hot to do anything, just so miserable. It was hotter in the house than outside, 90+ indoors! Anyway, we finally got the air fixed this week, and I am back to making cards :) This is for Verve's May sketch challenge, week 2. I used stamps from Verve's Feel the Sun set, I love Julee's flowers! I was a little stumped with the sketch at first, but once I figured out which stamps I was going to use, it went really fast.`
I actually tried painting my wildflower with Distress Inks. I just learned about this technique this weekend and gave it a shot. It was fun, and I really enjoyed it, though I'm not very good at it {yet :)}. I will definitely keep practicing and hopefully get better. I started another card today using the same technique which I will post tomorrow. Thanks so much for stopping by have a great night. :)

CPS Sketch #166

The Card Positioning Systems is new to me, and I love sketches, I'm lost without one, lol. I figured I would try their sketch this week, it is a sweet, simple one. I used my new daisy (I love daisies!) from JustRite, and the sentiment is from Verve. I used my Prisma pencils to color and added some stitching. Thank you so much for stopping in, have a fantastic weekend. :)

JustRite Friday Challenge 017: Inexpensive Gift Ideas

This week's challenge was to make inexpensive gifts. I have been wanting to make this cute little gift set that holds mini 3x3 cards and envelopes, perfect opportunity. I found the instructions on how to make it at Nichole's site here, she made it into a little accordion photo album, I added pockets instead, the template for the tiny envelope is here at SCS. For the outside I used my newest set, My Garden Borders & Centers Round 3-1/4 I love this set, can't wait to use it more. I cut the flowers out and popped them up with dimensionals. And for the note cards I used Just A Note Borders & Centers, this set was perfect for this! There are 10 borders and centers in the set, perfect for all occasions.

I really love how this turned out, it was fun and easy. I stamped, cut everything out, and put them together at the same time. Then decided to add some stitching, the cards were cute already, but I really love the look. I will be sending this off to a friend this week, hope she likes it.

The instructions say to use chipboard coasters, I have never seen these anywhere, so I just cut a couple of squares out of cardboard and rounded the corners with my corner rounder.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day. :)

Mojo 137

Wow, have not made a card in awhile now. Our AC broke and it really has just been too hot to do anything. It's been 90 outside and hotter indoors, pretty miserable, thankfully it will be getting fixed this week. Anyway onto my card, it is for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

I used Verve's Feel the Sun set, so sweet. I colored with Prismas and added some stitching. That's about it for now, I need to go cool off, lol. Have a wonderful weekend. :)
