Whew, just got this one in under the wire. My card is for the Viva la Verve sketch challenge for July week 4. We were to check out Bed Bath and Beyond and pick out an item from the bath section. I chose this shower curtain. I used Happy Days from Verve, LOVE this set! I colored the flowers with Prismacolor pencils and OMS then cut them out and popped them up. I used the Plain Jane Hibiscus from Verve stamped in pink and orange for my small panel. A little sponging and and embossing folder, and that's about it. Thanks for stopping in, have a great day. :)

JustRite Friday Challenge 028: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

This week's JustRite challenge was to use a photo on your project. I chose to make a scrapbook page featuring the Christmas morning when my daughter received a handmade Sunbonnet Sue quilt from my grandmother. That's my daughter sitting on her new quilt. My grandmother made a quilt for all of us grandchildren, that's 36 quilts! Then when the great-grandchildren came along, they each got one too until she could no longer sew a few years ago. My grandmother passed away in 2007, and I feel so blessed that we each, my children and myself, have something beautiful that she made. I bought the Stitched With Love stamp set because it makes me think of my grandmother and my mom, they both were always quilting, sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, you name it, they would do it. My mom is working on two quilts and some cross stitching now.

I decided to make my own little "quilt" with this sweet stamp from the Stitched With Love set. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils, and added a button to each quilt square and used a Martha Stewart doily border punch to give my quilt a lacey border. The sentiment and the little heart at the bottom of the journaling are also from the same stamp set. I kept the layout simple and added some vintage ric rac that I found in my mom's sewing stash, shhhh, lol.

The challenge this week is sponsored by Copic, how fantastic is that? I would love to try some Copics, how about you? You need to have your project submitted by Thursday July 29 at midnight to have a chance. Thanks for stopping in, have a great day. :)

JustRite Challenge 027: Christmas in July

This week's challenge at JustRite is to make a Christmas project. I knew I had to use this cardinal stamp from the Christmas Treasures set, I love cardinals and this stamp is so sweet! I double stamped the cardinal and the leaves around the sentiment and popped them up. The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and I added a little Liquid Applique for some snow. Some sponging and some gold metallic dew drops were added and the paper is from Making Memories, and that's it. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. :)

Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge July Week 2

For this week's Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge, we had 3 rooms to choose from, I chose this black and white bedroom. My black medallion is one of Verve's $3 Plain Janes and the flower is from the One Person set. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and some black rhinestones. That's it. Thanks for stopping in, have a great day. :)

Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge July Week 3

Hi, happy Saturday! This week at the Verve forum, Amber gave us our sketch and instead of giving us three rooms to choose our inspiration from, she gave us a web site, Theme Bathroom. So we were able to choose any bathroom, I chose this butterfly room, giving me the chance to use my new butterflies from Verve, love them. I stamped the antennae on the CS by itself, then the butterflies, colored them with Prismacolor pencils and MS and cut them out. My daughter says they look like tie-dyed butterflies, lol. The sentiment is also from Verve, Big Wish, fantastic birthday set. That's it, pretty simple and quick. Thanks for stopping in. :)

I finally got some time to squeeze a card in. This is for Viva la Verve's July sketch challenge, week 1. Here's the sketch and inspiration picture. I don't know why but I just felt like making a pink Christmas card. I love this set, O Christmas Tree from Verve. The flowers and bow are colored with Bic Mark Its, and the pine needles with Prismacolor pencils. The bow was double stamped and popped up, the circle with the sentiment is also popped. I used a couple of embossing folders and added some stitching. Oh, and some glitter in the flower centers. That's it. Thanks so much for stopping by. :)

I just can't put away my new Verve! I especially adore the butterflies. I made this card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I used my newest stamps, Blue Skies. My papers are K&Co. and the script on the three strips behind the oval sentiment is actually from a stamp too, by Shabby Green Door. That's it for now, thanks for stopping by. :)

JustRite Friday Challenge 025: Inside Out

I got a last minute card finished, JustRite's weekly challenge. The challenge this week was to use sentiment stamps on both the inside as well as the outside of your card. I'm glad I was able to get this challenge in because the inside of my cards are always naked, lol. My flowers and circular border are both from the Plant A Little Love set. The "Make a Wish" sentiment is from Cherish The Memories and the "Happy Birthday" is from the Baroque Nested Frames set, the font is just BEAUTIFUL! The flowers are colored with Prismacolor pencils and popped up for dimension. The frame is on thinner dimensional foam for just a little pop. I did a little sponging and stitching around the card. For the inside I wanted to keep it clean and simple. I stitched around the edges and used Spellbinders labels one, to match the outside, with a little sponging for my sentiment. The papers are K&Co. Thanks so much for taking a peek. :)

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #118

I made this for this week's sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions. I used this sweet flower from JustRite's Plant A Little Love set, and the sentiment is from their Just A Note set. The panel behind the flowers is embossed with Swiss Dots and sponged with Distress Inks. The flowers are colored with Prismacolor pencils and the centers are dotted with a glitter pen, though it does not show up glittery in the picture :( I used the same Martha Stewart lattice border punch for the main panel as the bottom of the card. The bottom one is just double layered. Thanks so much for stopping in for a peek. Have a great day. ;)
