A Christmas Wish

This week's JustRite challenge is a sketch. The sentiment and the pine garland are both from JustRite's Whimsical Christmas 2" set. I totally adore the garland, it is so delicate, it's just gorgeous up close! The circles are both cut with Nesties, sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink and the sentiment is popped up. I used my newest Nestie, Fleur de Lis and cut two of the corners off for the side decorative elements. The bottom panel was cut with a Fiskars border punch, and the stamp is from JustRite's Baroque Nested Frames. I stamped part of the image twice to get a straight line. The edges of the card were distressed and stitched, and that's it. Thank you so much for stopping in, have a great day. :)

Good Things

Yep, another kraft and butterfly card, lol. I found this fab challenge site, CASE Study. They have a gorgeous card up this week for you to pull your inspiration from. I used the card as a sketch and thought the kraft looked fab, so I kept that also. I am also entering this week's Wee Memories, the challenge is clean and simple. I love these leaves, a $3 Plain Jane from Verve, one of my fave PJs. The sentiment and that gorgeous butterfly are also from Verve. Thank you so much for popping in, have a great Sunday. :)

Happy Thoughts

There are so many challenges this week that I am hoping to enter. I usually get in one or two a week, I'm really going to try to get a few done, there are some fabulous ones this week. I saw this sketch over at Just Add Ink and knew I wanted to try it. I am also entering my card at this week's Flutter By Wednesday, this week is All Winged Things.

The music notes are from Shabby Green Door, and the butterflies and sentiment are both from Verve. I added some glitter to the butterflies and a seam binding bow. Off to do some stuff with the kiddies, and will try to start another card tonight. Have a fabulous Saturday. :)

Viva la Verve, week 4

Whew, I have not been able to work on the VLV sketches all month, and have caught up on them this week. Here is my card for week 4. This week Amber used the site House to Home for inspiration. Check out this room! I knew as soon as I saw it, this is the room I am using. I love the pink, yellow, and black, so stunning!

I used a script stamp from Shabby Green Door for the main panel background, and the flower panel is a flower randomly stamped from Verve's Feel the Sun set. The sentiment is also from Verve, from the latest release, Kind Words, I love this set so much, it's gorgeous! A little ribbon, a little bling, and that's it. I will definitely use this color combo again, I love it! Thanks so much for stopping by, have a happy Thursday. :)

Viva la Verve, week 2

I started this one last night and stitched it up and put it together this morning. Another fabulous sketch from Amber in the Viva la Verve forum. Here is the sketch and inspiration picture. Amber had us check out the site in the At Home section. I chose this wallpaper, I thought it would make a cool DP. I stamped a music stamp from Shabby Green Door several times, then a couple of flowers from Inkadinkado, and the sentiment is from Verve. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop in for a peek. Have a great day. :)

Viva la Verve

I finally had a little time to make a card, so I used this sketch from September's Viva la Verve sketchs. Amber gave us a sketch and sent us to an Etsy shop that sells vinyl decals for inspiration. Here is the sketch and inspiration pic.

All the paper and ribbon is from Stampin Up, the stamp is from Prima, and I used my new nestie, Lacey Squares. That's it for now, going to go try and start another one of Amber's sketches and hopefully post tomorrow. Good night. :)

One Layer Christmas Card

This week's Winter Wonderland challenge is to make a one layer card. This was a challenge for me as I love layers! I used this beautiful tree and sentiment from Verve, and added some liquid applique for a little snow. Then scored some lines (with my new Scor-buddy!) for some interest. That's it, it's the quickest card I have made, not counting waiting overnight for the liquid applique. Thanks so much for taking a peek! :)

Happy Birthday

I just received some Flower Soft, I know I'm way behind the times, lol. I couldn't wait to try it out and wanted to use it on this JustRite stamp. The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The pink panel is embossed with the Elegant Flower PJ from Verve. The sentiment is also from JustRite, from the Baroque Nested Frames set. A little sponging and some metallic dew drops, and it came together really quick. Now to find other uses for my new Flower Soft. Thanks for stopping in, have a great evening. :)

Santa Tag

I seem to have a hard time with tags, but made one last week and had fun with it and decided to try another. I knew that I wanted to use this Santa stamp that I bought about 7 years ago and has only seen ink once. I made it monochromatic and kinda vintage-y. I used Distress Inks Antique Linen and Walnut Stain for the background, and I stamped the Santa then masked it and stamped the music stamp a couple of times, then the flourish, and the postage stamp. Then I drew a tiny calender, the word "December" is stamped from a mini stamp from Making Memories and the tiny flourish on each side is from one of JustRite's font sets. I distressed and inked the edges, and popped the calendar and postage mark up on dimensionals that's about it. I am entering my tag in the Shabby Tea Room's Tag You're It! Challenge, Let's Ink It Up Vintage Tag/Bookmark, Our Vintage Affair's challenge this month is vintage tags, Sir Stampsalot's challenge this month is distressed, and over at 2 Sisters Challenge the challenge this week is monochromatic.

Thanks for stopping in. Have a great weekend. :)

Flutter By Wednesday

It seems like I never have enough time to get all the cards done that I want. I had some time today and knew that I wanted to enter the Flutter By Wednesday challenge again. Your card must have a butterfly, fairy, or angel, and who doesn't love them? The challenge this week is to use pink. I am using my favorite butterflies from Verve's Blue Skies set. I stamped the smaller one onto my panel and the larger one I colored with Prisma pencils and covered with glitter. The sentiment is also from Verve. Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day. :)

Christmas Wish

This week Simon Says Stamp and Show & the Simon Says Stamp Challenge are joining together for a SUPER hop to celebrate the approaching fall and winter holidays. To help celebrate they will be giving a $100 SHOPPING SPREE to the winner of the hop! How fabulous is that? The theme is holiday fun, so you can make a Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas project.

This afternoon my new Lacey Spellbinders die set came in and I did both the JustRite blog and Simon Says hops and was so inspired that I sat down and made my card. Both the sentiment and snowflake are from JustRite's Whimsical Christmas set, this set is so sweet. I cut the snowflakes out and on each dot on the snowflake, I added a dot of glitter. I also added glitter around the sentiment border and mat under the sentiment. And each embossed dot has more glitter. It's quite sparkly in real life. I finished it off with some stitching and popped up my snowflakes, sentiment and squares.

I don't know who this is going to yet, but I'm going to need to make an envelope and my envelope skills are not that good, lol. I have a Scor-buddy on the way, but I know it's too small for envies. If anyone has any envelope making tips, let me know. :)

Hubby and I are both sparkling tonight, lol. He was nowhere near my project, but he is covered in glitter too. :) Thanks so much for stopping in have a great night.

Entering in Simon Says Stamps and JustRite's Challenge # 34.

Mojo 155

Time for a new Mojo Monday sketch! I decided I need to work on Christmas cards here and there, so I pulled out this really sweet paper pad from Making Memories, I got it for a buck after the holidays last year!

I used stamps from Verve's O Christmas Tree set, love it!! My image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The bow was stamped a second time and popped up, and though it didn't photograph well, the poinsettias are covered in glitter. That's it, thank you so much for stopping in. :)

Let's Ink It Up Challenge #2

This week at Let's Ink It up, the challenge is to make a bookmark or tag, and the twist is it must have a vintage feel. I never make tags because for some reason I have such a hard time with them, but I figured I would give it a try.

I cut the tag from Spellbinders label 4 and painted it with crackle paint, then sponged with Distress Ink. The cute little pram stamp is from Anna Griffin, the flourish is Inkadinkado, the little frame around the heart is Verve, and the sentiment is Making Memories. I cut my own chipboard heart, painted, and covered it with glitter. I used seam binding for the bow and topped it with a vintage button from my mom's stash. Thanks so much for taking a peek. :)

Candy at Ying & Magnolia

Viva la Verve Sept. Week 1

Wow, September already. It sure is not feeling like fall weather in Florida. A new month, new Verve sketch challenges. Here is the new sketch and one of the inspiration pictures.

I love, love, love this little stamp from Whipper Snapper, she is just too cute!

I have been wanting this border die from My Favorite Things, and finally got it and the open scallop border as well, yay! There are still more of the Die-namics that I just have to have, love them. Now I know my card looks more blue than purple, but I promise it is more purple in real life ;)

This little baby is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS, with a little sponging with some Lulu Lavender from Memento ink. The sentiment is from a small stamp set from Making Memories. That's it for now, thanks so much for stopping in to take a little peek, have a great weekend. :)
