JustRite Challenge 15: May Day / Mother's Day

This week's challenge is to make a May Day or Mother's Day project using JustRite flowers. I used this bouquet from Thinking of You and framed it with Spellbinders scalloped ovals nesties. It was actually the first time I made a frame with them, I love the look! I know, I'm such a newbie, lol, everything excites me. I stamped the frame with a sweet gingham stamp, love that too, and roughed it up a little bit. The sentiment is also from JustRite, it is the 50 pt New Times Roman font, how awesome is that, you can have your card say what ever you want! There is also a Inkakinkado flourish lightly stamped behind the butterfly, love that it looks like it just landed. And there is a little piece of coffee stained lace behind the scalloped frame. The sentiment, butterfly, and bouquet are all stamped in walnut stain and clear embossed. I really love the shabby vintage look, but have only made a couple of cards, I never know where to go with them, but this card just came along so easily for me. The bouquet and butterfly are both colored with Prisma pencils, the butterfly looked really bright, so I sponged it up a bit. A little straight stitch, some distressing and sponging, and that's it. I Hope my mom likes her card. If you want to enter the challenge, your project needs to be entered by April 29th at 9am Central. Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day. :)

Mojo136

I saw this sketch for this week's Mojo and new I wanted to use Little Star from Verve. I paired it with some paper from DCWV, kinda reminds me of 70's nursery wallpaper. :) A little stitching, a border punch from MS, and this came together really quick. Thanks for taking a peek. :)

Verve Release Challenge #1 & 5

This was for Verve's release color challenge, we were to use the colors aqua, green, and orange. At first I was like, really? But after making mine and looking in the gallery, these colors are great together, very beachy. I used a set from Verve called Happiness Found that I bought months ago and had yet to ink up. The DP is called Mariposa from DCWV. I used an embossing folder, a MS border punch, and dew drops for the first time. I was reading the other day that dew drops are old news in cards now, oh well, lol, they are new to me.

My second card was for challenge #5 which was to use a sketch. I would much rather have a sketch challenge, as I am "sketch challenged", lol. I have a hard time coming up with my own sketch. This is from Verve's set Swan Song. I love this set, so elegant. Again I used DP from DCWV, and the swan is covered with glitter, though it doesn't really show up too well in the photo, it was then stamped three times and the feathers cut out and popped up. This one came together really quick once I figured out which stamp set I wanted to use. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend. :)

Verve Release Week Challenge #2

My first time having two posts in one day. If I'm lucky I'll get a third in, all 5 of your projects have to be in by 6:00 pm tomorrow, Friday the 23 to be eligible to win Verve's ENTIRE new release! Fantastic!
I used a K&Co DP with a swirl design and added swirl embossing also. The balloon is from Verve's Up Up and Away, and the cute sun and the sentiment are also Verve, Let It Shine. I snitched a little thread from my daughter's bracelet stash, shhh. Thanks for taking a peek, have a great day. :)

Verve Release Challenge #4

I'm so excited, Verve's release party is tomorrow night! The Divas have been showing some sneaks of the new stamps, they are gorgeous as always! There is even going to be a set with blessings, including Irish blessings, love it. This card is for one of the 5 challenges over at SCS. I used my newest addition, the script Cuttlebug embossing folder and my nesties to cut the frame and oval. The sentiment is a Plain Jane from Verve from the last release. The flourish at the bottom is from Inkadinkado and the little doodle on the corners of the frame are from Verve's Thankful Accents. I did some stitching and sponging and that's about it. Thanks for looking. :)

Verve Party Release Challenge #3

Verve is having sneak peeks this week for the newest sets to be released this Friday! The theme is beach party and the samples so far are just too cute! There are palm trees, waves, surf boards, I can't wait until the release party Friday to see the whole sets. These are going to make making guy cards easier.

My card today is for one of the sketch challenges this week. There are 5 challenges and you have to get all 5 done to have a chance to win. One person will win the entire release! How awesome is that!

I am new to kraft paper, I must be one of the last to finally get some, but I love it! The flourish is from Inkadinkado and stamped with fired brick Distress Ink and heat embossed with clear powder. The sentiment and the beautiful cake are both from Big Wish from Verve. A little stitching and a little sponging, oh and my ribbon was kinda bright so I added some walnut stain Distress Ink to it too to tone it down. That's it, thanks for stopping by for a peek. :)

JustRite Friday Challenge 014: Double Vision

The challenge this week at the JustRite blog is to use at least 2 differently shaped Spellbinders dies and 2 different JustRite stamp sets on one project. For my Spellbinders I am using Standard Circles and my newest set, just bought this weekend, Blossom. For my JustRite sets, I am using Thinking of You and Autumn Blessings. I love daisies and this image from the Thinking of You set is too sweet. It doesn't really show well in the picture, but the watering can is popped up on dimensionals. I used a MS border punch and added some zigzag stitching and sponging with Distress Inks. Thank you for stopping in. Have a wonderful week. :)

Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge, April Week 3

This month we are in the living room for the Viva la Verve sketch challenge. I chose this blue living room for my inspiration.
I made this card for my daughter's best friend's birthday this week. I used DCWV paper and colored the balloons, bow, and wing with Prisma pencils. The balloons and tiny bow are also popped up with dimensionals. The darling little bird is from the Black Tie Birdies set from Verve and the sentiment is also from Verve from the new Big Wish set. I scored the card and that's about it, the card actually came together pretty fast once I figured out what I was going to do. Thanks for stopping in, have a wonderful Sunday afternoon. :)

Thank You

Most of my cards that I make have been just for fun, only a couple have been given away. What started as a tiny box with a couple of challenge cards has grown into a bigger box full of cards in just a few months. What does everyone do with all their cards, lol? This card is actually going to someone. The mother of my daughter's BFF did something very special for my daughter and we are giving her this card to say thanks. I used K&Co paper, the stamps are both from Verve's Thankful Accents, it's on sale now too. Both the sentiment and frame are stamped with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I did some sponging, stitching, and punched a border with a MS punch. It doesn't show up in the picture, but the sentiment is popped up on the frame. Thanks for popping in, have a wonderful weekend. :)

JustRite Friday Challenge 013: Sew Right!

This week over at the JustRite blog the challenge is to use sewing on your card, I LOVE the look of stitching on cards! They have the cutest set, Stitched With Love that would be perfect for this, I so wish I had that set now. The JustRite stamps are new to me so I only have two sets right now, but I am loving them and just trying to figure out what to get next. Anyway, I chose to make a sympathy card using the Large Oval Thinking of You set. I used paper from DCWV, Linen Closet, such beautiful papers in this pack, love it! I used the large oval Nestabilities set for the sentiment and popped it up over the border, I love how perfectly these stamps fit in the nesties! Behind that I used the two largest Nestabilities from the labels 3 set to cut out the frame, I pinched the corners and this gave it a little more depth instead of just lying there flat. I made two more of those sweet little shabby flowers, love em. The panel behind the sentiment is stamped with the Leaves Plain Jane stamp from Verve and I added a kind of curvy stitch. On the main panel I used a simple straight stitch, or as straight as I can stitch, lol. And everything is sponged with Distress Ink, though my flash was a little bright, so I lost some of the look in my picture. You have until tomorrow morning, April 15 (eek, tax day hope you got that off!) at 9am Central to get your project linked up to Mr. Linky. Thanks so much for popping in. :)

Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge, April Week 2

Every month in the Viva la Verve forum Amber is giving us a different room from the home to pull our inspiration from. This month we are in the living room. Each week we get a new sketch and three different room to choose from. This week I chose this living room.

After I put my card together I realized that my yellow panel was suppose to be under the green like the sketch so I tried to take it apart and switch them around. Well, I ripped the green panel so I had to leave it as is. That will teach me to put my card together without a final look at the sketch, oops.
The cake and the sentiment are both from Big Wish, from Verve's last release. I love having all the new birthday sentiments and the cake is just too sweet! I colored the image with Prisma pencils and sponged around the edges. The flower was a first for me. I love all the shabby flowers that everyone is making and had to try it out, so easy and so cute! I will be making more. That's about it, thanks so much for stopping by. :)

JustRite Friday Challenge 012: Anything Goes!

This week at JustRite Stampers, the challenge is anything goes, no restrictions, no requirements. I made this card from the oval Thinking of You set. I used nestabilities, my favorite Cuttlebug folder swiss dots, and a Martha Stewart punch and I punched both sided of the paper. A little stitching around the edge, some sponging, and I finished it off with a little sparkle on the flower centers. You have until 9 am April 8 to add your project to Mr. Linky. This week the prize packages are: Winner: $50 JustRite Gift Certificate, Honorable Mentions: $15 JustRite Gift Certificate, awesome! Thanks for stopping in, have a great weekend, and happy Easter. :)

2 Sketches 4 You Kazan's Sketch 49

I love sketch challenges! I can never come up with something decent on my own, and these challenges are wonderful. For this sketch I used this sweet stamp from Just Rite Stampers, I just recently found this wonderful company and have a long wish list :) I colored the image with Prismas and gamsol, you can't really see it in the pic, but two of the flowers are double stamped and popped up. I also did some sponging around the edges with Antique Linen ink, finally got some, I think I must be the last to do so! And I finished it off with some stitching and this really cute antique lace that I swiped from my mom, shhh. Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day. :)
