Photo-Synthesis Challenge #3

It's time for the next Photo-Synthesis Challenge! Check out the fab pictures for you to draw your inspiration from. For my card I chose the picture on the right.
I stamped the background using the Plain Jane Leaves from Verve and added a little sponging. The sentiment and the watermarked flowers are both from a new set called Kind Words, also from Verve, love this set! I added some twine, metallic dew drops, and used my new Fiskars border punch.
Check out all the details of the challenge and the rest of the DT's cards here, or click the banner. Thanks for popping in, have a great evening. :)

Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #6

The Really Reasonable Ribbon theme this week is "Aloha". I knew I wanted to ink up one of my newer sets from Verve, Happy Days. I love the hibiscus and the wave frame in this set, so fun! The flowers are colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and popped up on foam dots. Check out all the details about the challenge here. Have a wonderful weekend! :)

Edit: I was one of the top 3 with this card at RRR, it's my first badge that I have won, so I am a little excited. :)

JustRite Challenge #032

This week at the JustRite blog the challenge is to use this fall color combination:
These colors remind me of fall when we lived in north Georgia. We would get the changing of the leaves up there, it was amazing! Down here in Florida, it doesn't get cold enough for the leaves to change, I really miss the colors.

I am also entering this into Polka Doodles contest, they are giving a way a set of Aquamarkers!

I had so much fun with this card. To start, I stamped and sponged my own DP, using the cheap and easy toilet paper method to sponge my inks onto ivory card stock, then stamped two images from Verve's Autumn Wishes. It was so much fun! I then stamped my pumpkin image and sentiment, both are from the Autumn Blessings Borders & Centers set. The pumpkin image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I double stamped the leaves in front of the pumpkin and an extra leaf from the set and cut them out and popped them up with foam dots. The image and sentiment are also on foam for dimension. It does not show up in the photo, but I used my Sakura glitter pen on the dots and vines, love the little bit of sparkle it added!

Thanks so much for stopping in for a peek, have a great day. :)

Viva la Verve August Week 1

I finally am getting started on my challenges for Viva la Verve for August. I've just been so busy, plus my knee has been in pain and full of fluid, I guess water on the knee. I've never had anything like it before and didn't hurt it in any way, but here it is all swollen. Anyway, enough of that. This is for the first sketch of the month. All the stamps on this card are from Verve. I stamped the PJ leaves onto white CS, then the flower from Feel the Sun onto Baja Breeze. The butterfly and sentiment is from Blue Skies, a little red ribbon, and that's it. Pretty quick and easy and a really sweet sketch. Thanks for stopping in. :)

Photo-Synthesis Challenge #2

The new Photo-Synthesis Challenge is up, here is the inspiration photo:

The sponsor this week is Tiffany Doodles! I love her fun digis! For my card I chose to use Tiffany's Dancing Dress image. I love the bright pink and yellow in the flowers from the inspiration picture and wanted to make a fun and flirty dress. I pieced the dress with papers from Cosmo Cricket, I layered the top part of the skirt and popped it up on foam dots for some dimension. The sentiment is from Verve and I even made a tiny scrunched flower with a rhinestone on the sash. Love this image, it's so fun and could be used for many different events. Head on over to the Photo-Synthesis Challenge and check out the rest of the DT's projects and link up your project by August 31. Thanks for stopping in. :)

There are also five sketch challenges, this is for sketch #5. Check out all the challenges at the Verve forum. Both the sentiment and image are from Verve's Party Time set. I used the "out of the box" technique for the balloons and colored them with Bic Mark-its and I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder. A pretty quick and easy card. One down and four to go. JustRite Friday Challenge 030: Inspiration Photo

This week's JustRite Challenge is to use this photo for inspiration:
I chose to use use the gorgeous blue comforter with roses on it. I stamped "Birthday Wishes" from the Birthday Centers set, such a beautiful, elegant font. I tea dyed my lace and the bow is from seam binding with a big pearl brad and stick pin. I used a Fiskars edge punch, added a couple of pearls, sponging with Distress Ink, and added my favorite Verve butterfly.

Over at Simon Says Stamp and Show the theme this week is Things With Wings, so I am entering in this challenge too. Their style there is vintage, which I love!

At the Wild Orchid Challenge blog, the theme is One For The Girls, and this card is very girlie!

Thank you so much for taking a peek. :)

Mojo 150

I saw this sketch and loved it. Then I couldn't come up with a card. I had one almost made, it just needed to be glued together, but I just didn't like it at all. I fell asleep thinking about it and woke up knowing exactly what I wanted. I used some new to me Cosmo Cricket paper, the paisley Cuttlebug EF, and since I don't have any kind of border punch or die cut that was similar to the sketch, I broke out an old pair of decorative scissors. I'm still in love with these butterflies and use them any chance I get, they are from the Blue Skies set from Verve. The sentiment is also from the same set, except I only used the word "DREAM" from this stamp:
I used some Bermuda Bay paper and ribbon, and added some blue pearls. That's it. Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day. :)

Love it! This is one of the inspiration photos from this week's challenge:

Gorgeous right? And here is my project, I used one of Julee's sketches:

All the stamps on my card are from Verve. The flourishes are from Blue Skies, the flower is from One Person, and the sentiment is a $3 Plain Jane. My flower is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and the ribbon is from a gift set that I reused for this card.

Check out The Photo-Synthesis Challenge and see the other beautiful projects from the rest of the Design Team. Thanks for stopping in, have a wonderful day. :)

Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop

Welcome to the Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop! Verve turns three today and we’re celebrating with a hop, hop, hop! If you've already been hopping along, you arrived here from Marisa's blog. If not, head on over to Julee's Blog for all the info on how to win prizes (after all, what's a party without presents?), and to start hopping from the beginning. If there's a hiccup along the hop, you can always head to the Master Hop List to get the full list of links.

I decided to make a 4x4 note card that I could tuck into hubby's book for him to find when he goes to read. I fell in love with the Love Monkey set as soon as I saw it, that monkey is too sweet! I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and gave her a little bow from the Black Tie Birdies set, and the gorgeous paper is from g.c.d Studios, awww she's so cute!

Thanks for hopping by! Now its time to hop on over to the fabulous Verve Diva Michelle's blog for a little more Verve-y goodness.
